Bobcats Avoid Elimination, Force Game Four vs. Aberdeen

Bismarck Backs Against the Wall

The Bismarck Bobcats staved off elimination on Wednesday night, defeating the Aberdeen Wings 4-1 in Game Three of their NAHL Central Division semifinals series. The win forces a Game Four on Friday night in Aberdeen, with the Bobcats trailing 2-1 in the series.

The Bobcats got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the first period. Tanner Schachle opened the scoring just 2:29 into the game, and Jake McLean made it 2-0 at 12:28. Aberdeen cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period on a goal by Ben Almquist, but the Bobcats answered back with goals from Owen Carron and Michael Neumeier in the third period to put the game away.

Bobcats goaltender Ethan Bowen made 25 saves to earn the win, while Aberdeen's Kyle McClellan stopped 21 shots. The Bobcats were 1-for-5 on the power play, while Aberdeen was 0-for-4.

The Bobcats will need to win Game Four in Aberdeen on Friday night to force a Game Five back in Bismarck on Saturday night. The Wings will be looking to close out the series and advance to the NAHL Central Division Finals.
