The 2017 MLB trade deadline has come and gone, and there were plenty of big moves made. Here's a look at some of the biggest deals, along with grades for each team:
- Justin Verlander to the Astros: The Astros gave up a package of prospects to acquire Verlander from the Tigers. Verlander is a seven-time All-Star and former AL MVP, and he should give the Astros a major boost in their rotation. Grade: A+
- Sonny Gray to the Yankees: The Yankees traded for Gray from the Athletics, sending a package of prospects to Oakland. Gray is a two-time All-Star and has been one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball over the past few years. Grade: A
- Yu Darvish to the Dodgers: The Dodgers acquired Darvish from the Rangers in a three-team deal that also involved the Blue Jays. Darvish is a four-time All-Star and one of the best pitchers in baseball. Grade: A+
- J.D. Martinez to the Red Sox: The Red Sox traded for Martinez from the Tigers, sending a package of prospects to Detroit. Martinez is a two-time All-Star and has been one of the most productive hitters in baseball over the past few years. Grade: A+
- Tommy Pham to the Rays: The Rays traded for Pham from the Cardinals, sending a package of prospects to St. Louis. Pham is a two-time All-Star and has been one of the most productive outfielders in baseball over the past few years. Grade: A
