During an interview with Chief Sam Peña of the Houston Fire Department, KPRC 2 reported that the Smokehouse Creek Fire in Hutchinson County has officially become the largest fire in Texas history.
In a separate incident, a 7-year-old child has tragically died and another individual has sustained serious burns following a fire in Houston.
Additionally, HFD crews are currently battling a large mulch fire on Crawford Street in Houston.
